A few years ago I bought a car in Japan. I used an international license for a while but it was only good for one year. I took the driver’s test and got my Japanese license. Many people ask me if it’s difficult to drive on the left side of the road in Japan. I don’t think so because I never think about LEFT and RIGHT. As long as you are not driving an imported car with an opposite-side steering wheel, the driver is always closest to the centerline. By thinking that way, I never have problems.

  数年前に日本で車を買いました。しばらくは国際免許証を使っていましたが、１年間しか有効ではないので、試験を受けて日本の免許を取りました。左車線の運転は難しくないかとよく聞かれますが、あまりそうは思いません。左右の違いを考えた事がないからです。ハンドルが反対側についた輸入車を運転していない限り、いつも運転手はセンターラインの近くです。こう考えていれば、大丈夫です。
